The main result of this paper is to show that Oren updating formula for unconstraind optimization is also satisfy a minimum property with respect to the measure function of Byrd and Nocedal. The Oren formula gives the unique solution of the variational problem.This idea may be extended for the inverse of any positive difinite matrix.
